We hope that you are one of the happy users whose Inbox is clean and tidy while your blocked list is full of spam messages. But what if it’s not? What if the blocked list is empty and your Inbox is full of garbage?
In this article we would like to share with you some tips on how to get over this issue quickly. Once there is a doubt regarding correct filtering, you can always check it at your settings page:
In the top right corner you can see your email addresses added to the filtering. If there is a yellow triangle (like shown on a screenshot) left to the email address, this is a sign to check.
This means the filtering is not working as it should be due to some error. You can see the error message while clicking on the triangle. Even you spot one of such errors, there is no need to worry, those errors are easy to fix in a few clicks. If there something like “Authentication Error” or “Login Failed”, you need to verify if Spamster is using up-to-date password in order to filter messages. Here is more info:
If the error contains something strange that means nothing to you, don’t panic, it’s even easier to fix! Just contact our support and we will be glad to fix the issue or provide you with the guide no how to do it from your side.
We encourage our customers to double check if they have any doubts about filtering of their Inboxes. Please do not hesitate to contact our support if our help desk articles do not bring the needed solution.
Share with your friends and let the yellow triangle never appear at your Spamdrain settings 😉
The season of vacations is at its peak . Hopefully, you are among those who are enjoying one or planning your destination. Of course, some of you cannot just leave all work behind and have to keep track of your inbox. So do not forget to take your Spamster with you and let him be on guard 24 hours a day. All we want to say – Spamdrain mobile apps will be a good help here.
Most of our users have already felt the benefits of using Spamdrain mobile application along with the web version.
However we keep receiving queries on how to continue using Spamdrain if a user has no access to a computer. Here come our mobile applications to make use of.
Our iOS and Android Apps are additions to the basic web version view. You can manage the filtering of your email address using different devices, whatever suits you best. Once the filtering is paused using Android mobile application, it will be paused on your iOS application and web version as well. The same thing is about the messages. You can see the same messages no matter which device you use. Such options like sharing, account and subscription editing are also available within the applications.
We would also like to shed light on how Spamdrain filtering works. Once the email address is added to the filtering, it will be filtered for as long as you wish. Our service is cloud based, so no matter whether you have access to the web or not, your email remains safe. You can easily drink cocktail on the beach leaving your fears about spam behind.
Even if you do not have access to the Internet or there is no Wi-Fi at the beach, that’s ok, our Spamsters will not stop cleaning your Inboxes.
Don’t forget to take a hat, the sun is really shiny here today!
Have a nice vacation and Inbox free from spam 😉
Hot stats of June.
We hope the weather outside your window is hot enough to lay on the beach and enjoy sunny summer days. We can say for sure that it’s hot for our spamsters. Obviously June is not the month of vacation for spammers.
The first month of summer was remarkable of its number of spam messages: almost 42.5M messages of our users were filtered. 16M messages were considered as valid and 26.4M were considered as spam. Number of spam messages does not look that promising, but at least we know those messages will not reach your Inbox.
The high number of spam messages is due to the fact that there are more and more spammers appear trying to reach you with different ways. Another reason is it’s becoming a trend to cause inconvenience to people using worldwide cyber attacks like WannaCry or Petya malware. Those two took place all over the world in May and June in accordance. No one is safe from being hacked but you can use one more strong layer before you click on the malicious link. Make sure the suspicious link stays unopened in the blocked list of your Spamdrain account. We are happy to increase the number of spam filtered messages as long as your Inbox remains clean and spam free.
Please do not hesitate to share it with your friends and let them know about spam free life

Have you ever checked how many messages your Spamster has filtered this week/ month or so?
Recently we have shared some info about the amount of filtered messages of all our clients in this article. Today we would like to describe “Statistics” feature available for each account.
Statistics charts can be found on this page https://spamdrain.com/en/app.html#/statistics. Following the link, you will see the amount of filtered messages by your own Spamster. You can switch the view to “Last week” / “4 weeks” / “6 months”. As we can see for most of the clients, the charts tend to go high, which means that the number of messages filtered is constantly growing. We hope that spam in your Inbox tends to go to 0.
Hovering the mouse on the specific column will let you see the exact number of messages. There is also a possibility to see only chosen category of emails: spam/valid/viruses/newsletters.
If you are a happy owner of a Spamdrain+ subscription and there are more than one user added to your account, you can switch between the users and have a closer look at statistics per user.
Now, when you know the exact number of filtered messages, you can easily calculate how much time you save with the help of your Spamster.
Do you want to know whether the number is high or low? Feel free to leave a comment with the amount of filtered messages per week and compare results 🙂
Here is a little description of our Spamdrain+ subscription features.
As you can see from the link
the main difference between basic Spamdrain subscription and the Spamdrain+ is an unlimited number of email addresses and the price per address. Expensive subscription you might say, however, if you check the price per 5 email addresses or more, you will see that the more addresses are added the bigger discount you get. For example, if you would like to add 10 email addresses to the filtering you will get 15% discount, 100 email addresses: 35% discount.
Using multi user option in Spamdrain, each user logins to his own account, receives only his own reports, has its own blacklist/whitelist. In other words, each user account is “separated” from others. The owner of subscription is able to create/remove users and move email addresses between users. Payments in this subscription are handled by the owner, there is no need for the users to worry about expiration date. The best way to help your employees save their time 😉
Using Spamdrain+ subscription allows you to add your domain to the filtering. With domain filtering your email gets filtered before it reaches your email server. Using this guide
you can check for more and set the filtering. Please note, using domain filtering you also pay per email address added to the filtering. The aliases are free to add 🙂
One more advantage of using Spamdrain+ is that you get your personal support. Whatever the issue, our support will gladly help you to resolve it.

Recently we have posted an article dedicated to 2016 achievements of Spamdrain team.
However we would like to pay special attention to our Spamsters hard work during last year.
In this post we are sharing some surprising facts about our Spamsters daily work.
It turned out that our Spamsters filtered 477.65 M messages during last year and only 148.74 M (31%) of them were classified as valid messages.
Doing simple mathematics we found out that 328.91 M messages were classified as spam which is 69% of the total number. As you can see, the load of spam messages is twice bigger than of valid ones. We can surely say, that spammers are trying to “improve” these stats every year 🙂
Using those number we tried to calculate how much time is spent on spam checking every day. If you are super fast person who checks one spam message in one second, you will spend 10,5 years in order to check 328.91 M spam messages. But what if you spend 5 seconds to check one spam message, or even 10? Billions of wasted seconds and hours… If you are using your email address added to the filtering for business, you can calculate the price of such time depending on hourly cost. Billions of lost money…
Our average customer receives approximately 40 spam messages a day which are being filtered by our hard working spamsters. What if you do not have your own spamster and spend, let’s say 5 seconds to read/check/remove the spam message? That will cost you up to 20 hours per year to check those spam messages. Realizing that, our spamster are working even harder, because they want you to spend that time with your family, friends, even with your cat or dog.
We hope you enjoyed the article and now you are more happy to have your spamster than before.
Please feel free to share this post and help other people to save their precious time.

When the Festive season is over and 2017 is ready to start working on all the New Year Resolutions and plans, we would like to stop for a moment to sum up what Spamdrain has achieved in 2016.
As most of the companies, we had our business plan for the year and had already summarised it for ourselves. However, all the plans and their realisations would not have been possible without YOU, our customers, so now we are more than glad to share our main achievements with YOU:
- In 2016 we have processed more than 3500 customers’ support requests which means that Spamdrain Team has solved lots of issues in different areas and we are happy to know that our Team is strong enough to deal with any matter that may appear. We have also updated our Help Desk Articles and created new ones based on your requests.
- We have expanded our team in order to provide excellent service. Each Spamdrain’s team member knows that his or her work is one more step to better quality of the product.
- In 2016 we have received much more positive feedbacks than in any other previous year. Reading them, we understand that we are on the right way to happy customer. You might want to check some recent feedbacks on our main page of the website (feedbacks are updating).
- 2016 has brought some negative feedbacks as well but we are thankful for that as well. Having carefully studied each of them helped us to understand that there are no limits in getting better and we will continue working on our perfection.
- Based on the feedbacks and reviews from our customers, we have provided different discounts for new and current users. The most recent discount was dedicated to Black Friday. We hope that you enjoyed them and surely, we will enrol some new discounts soon.
- We have rolled out a lot of new features. Actually, our users suggested many of them and we really appreciate this contribution to Spamdrain. You can check newly added features in our previous posts here.
- We have trained all our Spamsters to work as a team and always stay on guard of our customers’ Inboxes.
All in all, we would like to thank YOU for helping us in reaching our last year goals and we hope that this year will bring us new ideas and new achievements. There are lots of things we have planned and a lot of work to be done.
All we want is a world of clean Inboxes 🙂
In this article we would like to highlight some key points regarding email security and phishing scams.
First of all, what is phishing? Email messages that are trying to get your personal information are called phishing scams. Usually this kind of messages lead you to the fraudulent websites using links included in the message. The website itself is intended to collect your username, email address, password, credit card detail etc.
According to Symantec threat report, the reported number of exposed identities jumped to 429 million in 2015. Since phishing is considered to be one the most devious form of identity theft, it is important for your to become familiar with the various types of phishing scams as well as to learn how to be protected from them. We gathered the most useful and powerful tips on how to beat phishing messages:
1. Do not click on the links, download files and attachments from unknown and suspicious senders. If you think the link is strange and doubtful, probably it is so. Never go to your bank’s website by clicking on links included in emails.
2. Do not reply to suspicious messages with providing your personal data (passwords, credit card details, etc.) to the sender. You never know who is behind the “sender” field. When you really need to share your information it is better to use secure website or just call the person than using an email to provide passwords.
3. Change your accounts’ passwords and check you bank account status regularly. Some companies have a policy rule to change account’s password regularly and use only hard to guess ones. Why don’t get such a rule for yourself?
4. One of the best options (that you are probably already using) is Spamdrain filter. Every week Spamster stops like 4-5 million spam messages with viruses, blank senders, etc. (and that’s even without newsletters). Our spam filters analyze every little detail from the sender field to the links in the message and our Spamster works hard to keep our customers satisfied. He is always on guard of your email address from phishing emails.
Well, it’s time to go and keep your Inbox free from phishing emails.
